Before the introduction of AI, 711 needed to go through multiple meetings and consumer surveys before launching new products, and the entire process took 10 months. To speed up development, the company built its own cloud AI system.
This AI system integrates generative AI from companies such as OpenAI, Google, and Stability AI. It can collect large amounts of data from customers, manufacturers, and the media, use AI technology to identify consumer trends and quickly propose new product plans, and can also automatically generate advertising ideas.
It is reported that 9,000 employees of 711 Japan have begun to frequently use this AI system. It is said that through the application of AI, the number of internal meetings has been reduced by 80%, and the time for new products to be launched has been shortened by 90%. In the future, AI will help 711 launch products that consumers need more promptly.
7-Eleven also plans to sell products generated by the AI system under the "Seven Premium" brand in Japan next year.
