Starting with last week'sOpenAIBoard of DirectorsThe expulsion of ChatGPT founder Sam Altman has not finally come to an end - in other words, theThere's still a chance..
To date, a total of 743 OpenAI employees have signed a joint letter making it clear that the board's actions since firing Sam Altman have jeopardized the company and are seen as and no longer capable of fulfilling their responsibilities.
And OpenAI has a total of 770 employees in existence. That means more than 96% employees have stated that they'll quit and follow Altman instead if Sam Altman doesn't return.
Interestingly, the interim CEO (Emmett Shear), who was brought in by the board of directors, wanted to call an all-employee meeting, and none of the OpenAI employees responded by sending the CEO's notification on Slack with the emoticon "foreign curse word".
Despite the pressure, the OpenAI board is still in revolt as they conspire to recruit new members to increase their vote count, with the respected Nat Friedman, former CEO of GitHub, saying he received a phone call offer but declined, not wanting to be taken for a ride.
While Altman is currently on board with Microsoft, several sources told The Verge (a foreign technology outlet) thatAltman and co-founder Greg Brockman are still open to returning to OpenAI if the remaining board members who fired him step down.
