According to The Information, artificial intelligence companyOpenAICEO Sam Altman told employees that the company's annualizedRevenueThis figure shows that OpenAI's growth is accelerating even in the face of fierce competition.
By comparison, OpenAI's annualized revenue is expected to be $1.6 billion by the end of 2023, compared to about $1 billion last summer. This significant growth is mainly due toChatGPTA subscription version of OpenAI, which offers higher message limits for users who pay at least $20 per month. OpenAI also generates a lot of revenue from charging developers to use the company’s large language models in their own apps and services.
About $200 million in revenue each year comes from Microsoft, which sells OpenAI's large language models to customers through its enterprise cloud computing platform Azure and brings a certain percentage of the revenue to OpenAI. This cooperation further drives OpenAI's revenue growth.
As of now, OpenAI did not immediately respond to media requests for comment. Earlier this week, Apple announced a partnership with OpenAI. The company plans to connect ChatGPT directly to its iPhone, iPad and Mac operating systems, allowing Siri to contact ChatGPT to answer questions. However, the financial terms of the deal remain unknown.
