LinkedInA series of new AI-powered features were recently launched, designed to help users more easily search for jobs, customize their resumes, and even get advice from AI chatbots. These new features will first be available to premium subscribers in English worldwide.
One tool allows users to search for jobs on LinkedIn by typing in natural language prompts, such as "Find me a remote marketing job in Detroit that pays at least $110,000." This type of search is expected to be an efficient way to find potential job opportunities.
Another feature reviews your resume and provides personalized recommendations for specific positions. Users can upload their resume, get feedback, and edit it interactively with the AI. There is also a tool that helps you write a cover letter from scratch using AI.
These features are in addition to other AI features that LinkedIn began testing late last year that are only available to premium subscribers. In addition, LinkedIn has also begun piloting several expert AI characters with whom users can talk to learn more about business. Tomer Cohen, LinkedIn's chief product officer, said that the responses users will receive are trained by experts and represent personalized insights that meet the unique needs of each learner.
In addition, LinkedIn is promising broad improvements to the platform’s search capabilities through generative AI, though specifics were not disclosed. “With our new search capabilities, every search interaction will get smarter — whether you’re looking for people, exploring jobs, making connections, or seeking knowledge and answers,” Cohen said, promising that the search enhancements will roll out “in the coming weeks.”
