IntelA new artificial intelligence tool was launched at the Taipei International Computer Show——AI Playground, designed to get generative AI novices quickly started, is expected to be available for free download this summer.
It is worth mentioning that AI Playground needs to be paired with the Intel AI XMX engine, so it requires an Intel Core Ultra processor with Arc Iris discrete graphics or integrated Arc GPU.
Intel said AI Playground can be installed like other Windows applications, allowing AI functions to run locally on the PC without the use of command lines and scripts.
According to reports, AI Playground has an integrated AI center and will initially provide three AI functions: picture generation, prompt-based image editing, and "answers" (local chat LLM).
Intel says that while the functionality is limited, it has been carefully designed to create an "entry-level app" that will be a first step toward deeper tools.
Here we take the AI image generation function as an example. Compared with the common AI image tools on the market, AI Playground's AI image generation function greatly simplifies the operation steps, hiding professional names such as "LoRAs" or "Scheduler" that confuse ordinary users, and replacing them with sliders such as "Image Quality" and "Resolution" that are easier to understand. In addition, AI Playground also supports manual mode, allowing "intermediate users" to make more in-depth adjustments.
Similarly, the image editing function is also very simple and easy to understand. Users can enlarge, repair, fill, retouch or expand the picture with just one click.
It also supports an "answer" feature, which is a service similar to ChatGPT's chatbot, but Intel did not fully demonstrate its capabilities, only letting it recognize an incorrect "haiku" and a Monty Python/Monty Python line.Pyson's lines.
Intel says the real potential of Answers lies in the fact that it can be trained on and get answers from local text files, which has a clear privacy and security advantage over ChatGPT.
