Alibaba said that in China, DAMO Academy's AI cancer early screening technology has provided services to more than 6 million people.Covers screening for pancreatic cancer, esophageal cancer, intestinal cancer, gastric cancer, liver tumors, etc., has reached a strategic cooperation with the Ministry of Health of Antigua and Barbuda internationally.
After the signing of this agreement, the WHO International Cooperation Center for Digital Health will provide support in terms of channels, markets, implementation, technology, standards, etc. More developing countries and regions with uneven medical resources around the world will share this cutting-edge achievement.
According to Alibaba’s official introduction,As early as October 2022, the company initially verified the technical feasibility of combining AI with plain scan CTLast November, Alibaba, together with more than 10 top research institutions around the world, released the pancreatic cancer detection model PANDA, proposing for the first time the use of "plain scan CT + AI" for large-scale early screening of pancreatic cancer. The related paper was published in the top international medical journal Nature Medicine.
In February this year, DAMO Academy's medical AI was piloted in Lishui Central Hospital and Jingning County People's Hospital as a public welfare project.
