Kunlun Wanwei announced that its flagshipBrowserOpera Opera One and gaming browser Opera GX will be officially connected to the end sideAI Big Model, becoming the world's first mainstream browser to access the end-side AI big model.
In April 2024, Opera has connected the end-side AI big model to the developer version of the browser for the first time and conducted comprehensive testing.
Kunlun Wanwei stated that from now on, the end-side AI big model will be officially integrated into the Opera browser flagship product, covering all devices including Windows, MacOS and Linux.
It is reported that in April 2024, Opera introduced the end-side AI access function in the Opera developer version browser through the AI Feature Drops plan, becoming the world's first browser to introduce the local AI model access function.
Since then, Opera has integrated more than 60 large model families and more than 2,000 local large language model variants into the browser, allowing users to easily access and manage local large models through built-in browser functions.
It is worth mentioning that starting this week, Opera’s native browser AI assistant Aria will add AI image understanding and image question and answer functions.
Users can upload pictures to Aria in the sidebar chat and ask it questions about the image. Aria will understand the content of the image and provide users with answers around the image and related background information.
