Google announced today that it will Gemini Artificial intelligence and the introduction of AI features on the company's other devices Chromebook Plus laptops, including models already on sale from Asus and HP, as well as new models coming soon from Acer. These existing and future Chromebook Plus models will support new features like Google's "Help Me Write" and the ability to create custom wallpapers using generative AI. Google Photos' Magic Editor will also be available on the Chromebook Plus, a feature that has previously been available on some older Android devices.
Google has added a Gemini icon to the app dock so that users can access the feature faster and easier. For users who purchase a new Plus laptop, Google is also giving away 12 months of free Google One AI premium plan, which includes a premium version of Gemini, 2TB of cloud storage, and Gemini features integrated in Docs, Sheets, Slides, and Gmail.
In addition to this, Google has also announced some new features for all Chromebooks (both Plus and standard): the ability for Android hands to share Wi-Fi and login credentials directly with new Chromebooks via QR codes, the ability to make GIFs from screen recordings, and a built-in Google Tasks viewer.
