GoogleRecently announced that it has begun to add shopping ads to its artificial intelligence search results. This new initiative will be implemented first in the United States.
Google said the ads are “clearly identified as ads” and are only shown when the prompt provided by the advertiser “matches the prompt term searched by the user.”
Liz Reid, Google's new search chief, said that through small-scale tests, it was found that users are happy to see advertising information above/below the AI overview because this information is helpful to them."
Based on this finding, Google decided to implement this type of advertising measure, where advertisers only need to provide prompt words related to the user's search content to make the advertisement content appear on theAI SearchAs a result, no additional complicated settings are required.
For example, when a user searches for ways to remove wrinkles from clothes, AI will not only provide a series of solutions, but also recommend related advertising products at the bottom of the search results.
Google has not yet announced the official launch date of this new feature.
