The Leonardo Commission said in a statement that strengthening the promotion of the "Made in Italy" brand on international markets, including in the chemical, pharmaceutical and electromechanical sectors, could bring an additional 30 billion euros in added value. The study also said that some 300,000 new jobs could be created in these affected sectors compared to the 2030 baseline scenario through the wider application of artificial intelligence and the promotion of the "Made in Italy" brand.
Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology is a major focus of attention for businesses and policy makers. Italy has made it an important topic for the rich countries (G7) presidency of the Group of Seven (G7) and last month passed a bill regulating its use. The bill, which is pending in parliament, is expected to initially invest up to €1 billion in AI projects and startups with the support of state lender Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (CDP).
The study provides guidance for the future development of Italian companies, showing the potential impact of the widespread use of artificial intelligence and the promotion of the "Made in Italy" brand on economic growth and employment.
