Musk's xA The company is working withOracleNegotiations are underway with plans to invest $10 billion to lease Oracle's AI servers. If the deal is finalized, xAI will become Oracle'smaximumOne of xAI's customers. The move will allow xAI to quickly catch up with competitors OpenAI, Google and Anthropic, among other headline companies.
Meanwhile, xAI is in the midst of a $6 billion round of equity funding to help cover the cost of cloud computing services. Musk revealed that he plans to use the funds raised to lease AI chips to improve the performance and efficiency of Grok models.
Musk also mentioned that OpenAI and Microsoft are exploring the development of a $100 billion dollarsupercomputer project, which is expected to be completed by 2028. The project will be equipped with millions of NVIDIA GPUs, demonstrating the huge initial investment required for AI research and development.
In addition, Musk shared xAI's development plans. To train Grok 3.0 models, xAI plans to lease 100,000 NVIDIA H100 GPUs, and is already using about 20,000 H100 chips for Grok 2.0 training. He hopes to accelerate the expansion of GPU leasing with this round of funding, aiming for 100,000 GPUs by the second half of 2025.
Through the partnership with Oracle and the equity financing, Musk's xAI will have access to additional resources to support and accelerate its growth in AIGC.
